![]() Each of the car projects are very different, and I did this so that people can see that the Global Context focuses the project, it is not an add on, or a 'this GC fits best' scenario. The contexts help students explore real-life issues, guide inquiry and reflection and support conceptual learning through different perspectives. Using global contexts, MYP students develop an understanding of their. What are the MYP Global Contexts The Global Contexts are 6 'themes' that provide both an organization and an extension of learning within and across the subjects. You'll see that the words in bold, and taken directly from the description or exploration. Students learn best when their learning experiences have context and are connected. Following each of these pages I have put an example, about a car. After looking at the assumptions, each page has the Global Context, the description and the exploration. ![]() This also happens with the IB Learner Profile attributes, so you can do a similar activity with those too. This is because I find often teachers and students just look at the title, and they bring their own knowledge and ideas to it, assuming what it means exactly. The speakers who addressed the students ranged from scientists to lawyers, artists and sportsmen, as well as the teachers with their specialized teaching backgrounds on their specific subject areas. It then asks the audience to make assumptions about the definition of one Global Context, 'Identities and Relationships'. The MYP students then moved to their respective classrooms with class teachers and had a session on Global Contexts for all the MYP grade levels. ![]() The presentation briefly describes what Global Contexts are.
